Biofuels
We are using Conventional fuel sources to meet our energy needs , transportation etc., Our energy needs has been increased many fold from Industrial revolution. In the near future the energy needs will increase more. But unfortunately our conventional fuel energy sources are limited.
What is the Solution ?
Biofuels is one of the Solution to the above problem. They are three Significant generation of biofuels
1. Biofuels from food crops
2. Biofuels from Cellulose
3. Biofuels from Algae
Food crops like Sugar cane , Corn are used to derive biofuel in the earlier days. But they are creating another problem . Problem is competing with food which feed lot of population. So it is not a good option.
In the second generation technologies are developed to derive biofuels from Non food crops and any cellulose material. Best example for India is Jastropha. But process cost is high.
Now the Researchers in the world wide are working to derive biofuel from Algae which is abundant on earth and easy to cultivate.
Some biofuels will also be derived from Animal fats.
Examples of Biofuels are Methanol , Ethanol. They have a high octane value when compared with conventional fuels. Methonol or Ethanol are mixed in a certain proportion with petroleum or diesel . These fuels reduce the harmful gas emissions like carbon monoxide.
Biofuels are regarded as a renewable option. Because the amount of carbon dioxide it is absorbed during growing is released by burning . There is no gain of excess green house gas.
The main challenge ahead for this technology is cost competative and reducing competion with food needs.
Thank you ...........

Problem based learning
In Problem based learning
1. Teacher poses a problem
2. Students list what they know regarding problem and what they dont know
3. Tried to learn themselves independently or in group regarding unknown things
4. Teacher acts as a mentor, not act as a source of solutions.
Really it is a beautiful process of learning. But today teacher oriented learning dominating . This is not giving scope to children to learn creatively. Practical way of learning is killing today in corporate culture. Even students are not ready to study even single paper of text and learn by themselves.
It is really a serious issue to think on.

Nuclear power
Is Nuclear Energy Safer ?
Nuclear energy is safer and one of Good renewable option. In India we have less uranium levels to produce nuclear power. But after processing uranium , Plutonium is produced. From plutonium , Thorium is produced.
By using Plutonium and Thorium as a raw materials we can able to produce power from nuclear plants.
But it takes 8 years to build a Plutonium based power plant. With in the next 20 to 30 years nuclear power take a significant part in indian energy needs.
---- These views are taken from Pariq, Former Planning commission member of india

Why we go to Renewable energies
They are two types of fuels . Conventional fuels , another one is the renewable fuels. Examples of conventional fuels are coal , petrol, gasoline. unfortunately they are limited reserves. As today energy demand is increasing day by day fossil fuel resouces are decreasing. Although these create lot of Green house gas emissions .
Now where we get our energy needs . Solution to this Renewable energies. Renewable energies means they will not deplinish. They are cleaner and not emit green house gas emissions. In india we have a huge oppurtunity to grab Renewable sources. Main important renewable sources are
1. Solar energy
2. Wind energy
3. Biomass and Biofuels
4. Nuclear and Hydal power.
Although Nuclear is a cleaner fuel. Its potential is less in india.
Tomarrow Renewable energies , Technologies based on these concepts have a greater future.

Do you know the secret of Scientists.
They acquire the knowledge through a strong powerful tool name " Scientific method".
In scientific method various stages are
1. Observe
2. Gather information
3.Hypothesis creation
4. Experimetation
5. Conclusion
If Experimentation fails , Hypothesis should be changed.
